The Gordon Research Seminar on Staphylococcal Diseases is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. This meeting will focus on multifaceted aspects of Staphylococcal interactions with the environment. It will address the competition with the bacterial microbiome during colonisation as well as the interference with host immune cells during infection. Selected topics will investigate both, the bacterial strategies used to promote colonisation or disease (adherence, immune evasion, virulence) and the host immune responses against Staphylococcal infection. This seminar will provide a platform for young investigators in the field of Staphylococcal Diseases to present and discuss their cutting edge research. A mentoring program will provide the opportunity to discuss multiple career paths in microbiology including academia, industry, and beyond.
