The 6th annual TMT Science Forum will be held in Pasadena, California, on December 10-12, 2018. For three consecutive days, members of the international astronomical community will meet to discuss and plan the future of TMT science programs. The TMT Science Forum is the prime opportunity to learn about the Thirty-Meter-Telescope, get an update on its design and construction status, discuss its science capabilities, and become involved in shaping the observatory-s future. Also, as the Forum is being organized this year in the same city as the project headquarters, a visit of the TMT technical laboratory will be offered to all interested Forum participants. The theme for the 2018 Forum is "Breakthrough Science with the Thirty-Meter-Telescope”. We will discuss the transformative science that will be done with the TMT throughout all domains of astrophysics, regardless of whether these key projects require the coordination of a large group of scientists and many hours of TMT observations, or whether they can be carried out via standard, smaller, PI-led programs, all aiming at answering a set of well focused questions requiring the use of the high sensitivity and exceptional angular resolution of the TMT. Similarly to last year-s forum, which was aimed at building instrument teams in preparation for the TMT Call for White papers on next-generation TMT instrumentation, this year the Forum will be key in preparing the future TMT users community to design science programs that will make the best use of this giant telescope to address fundamental questions about the nature of our universe throughout its ages, from our immediate neighborhood to the most distant galaxies. For US scientists, this Forum will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the capabilities offered by the TMT in preparation for their submission of Astro2020 white papers. The science programs discussed at the Forum will also provide a critical source of material for revisiting the 2015 TMT Detailed Science Case (download pdf here), in preparation for the publication of a future revised edition.
