Abstract

The rapidly growing world population will require increased productivity which will be enhanced by the use of statistical analysis resulting from the studies of agricultural sciences. Therefore, each nation should highly consider to provide a forum to foster a spirit of cooperation in the sharing of ideas and statistical methodology among the global nations to maintain continual improvement in the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of agricultural statistics. In accordance with the mission of ICAS and in line with the niche area of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), agricultural sciences; the Laboratory of Computational Statistics and Operations Research, Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), UPM is honoured to jointly organise the inaugural Conference on Agricultural Statistics 2015 (CAS 2015) with the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, UPM Bintulu Campus and the Faculty of Agriculture, UPM which is the first of its kind in Malaysia.
