The purpose of the symposium is to gather national and international experts and PHD students to present and exchange recent research findings on the geology of the Maghrebides chain and adjacent areas (including the Atlasic and Saharan domains). The word "geology" is taken in its broadest sense and embraces issues related to fundamental geology, geophysics, mineral resources, engineering geology and geological heritage.
