Abstract

The Nature is always changed dynamically even in quantum mechanics. Quantum walks, which are quantum-mechanical analogues of random walks, are promising toy models to understand quantum dynamics. Surprisingly, these models can be experimentally demonstrated in some physical models. This workshop will be open for interdisciplinary researchers from the theoretical and experimental sides on the discrete-time and continuous-time quantum walks, for examples, mathematics, physics, quantum information, and statistical mechanics. The organizers strongly encourage young researchers to actively join us to this workshop. The series of the workshops on quantum walk was held at Tokyo, Japan (2011, cancelled), Valencia, Spain (2011), Okazaki, Japan (2012), Pisa, Italy (2013), Durban, South Africa (2014).
