Abstract

This FASEB Science Research Conference brings together leading international investigators in the field, junior scientists, and those who have recently entered the field of protein ubiquitination. Structural, molecular, and cellular biology continue to reveal both novel and common themes in protein ubiquitination. New discoveries continue to expand the basic and clinical potential of understanding Ub and Ubls, particularly in the areas of cancer biology, infectious diseases, muscle wasting, and neurologic diseases, and are driving efforts in drug discovery. Nine platform sessions and two poster sessions will reflect the broad diversity of research in the field and will include topics such as mechanisms of Ub conjugation and deconjugation, cell cycle and signaling, physiology and development, and pathology and therapy. Each session will include both invited speakers and those chosen from submitted abstracts to ensure good representation of those who are new to the field and/or young investigators. Lively and well-attended poster sessions offer a venue where students and postdoctoral fellows can exchange ideas with each other and with senior scientists.
