Semi-analytic models of galaxy formation are powerful tools used to populate the products of N-body cosmological simulations with observed galaxies. These techniques allow to account for the complex physics that regulates the galaxy formation process, including star formation, AGN and supernovae feedback, chemical evolution, mergers. The results are high-fidelity virtual galaxy mock catalogues which can be used besides the Flagship/MICE simulation to interpret Euclid galaxy clustering and weak lensing measurements. In fact, thanks to their high resolution, these mocks allow to push the galaxy clustering analysis down to very small scales, to better resolve the substructures inside the same halo, and to shed some light on the galaxy formation mechanism. This workshop aims to establish a synergy between the near-future ESA Euclid mission and the products of different cosmological simulations (MultiDark, Millennium XXL, SAM Galaxies, EAGLE, ILLUSTRIS) which are widely used to predict galaxy clustering and weak lensing properties.
