Abstract

Virtopsy is a cross application domain that concerns forensic pathology, a part of public health. Specialists from various scientific disciplines including forensic pathology, radiology, anthropology, physics, crime scene investigation, engineering, and computer sciences are welcome to participate in the Virtopsy Course to improve their knowledge in the interdisciplinary field of imaging techniques and forensic medicine in lectures and workshops. The Virtopsy Basic Course is focused on postmortem CT and Surface Scanning. The Course involves lectures, discussions, and hands-on-sessions. The objective of the BASIC course is to provide basic knowledge of and skills in forensic imaging with a focus on post-mortem computed tomography and surface scanning. The objective of the ADVANCED course is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in forensic imaging with a focus on post-mortem CT, MR and angiography. a€€
