Over a decade of evolution in peer-to-peer computing has brought many advances to distributed systems. Besides establishing solid theoretical principles, this research has led to practical systems that benefit millions of Internet users. It has also helped push the frontier of computing applications, data, and services away from central nodes to the logical extremes of networks, where they can leverage edge resources such as user machines, access points, home gateways, and personal and enterprise clouds. The IEEE P2P conference seeks high-quality, original contributions that advance the state-of-the-art in theoretical and systems aspects of P2P and edge computing.
