The Science of Adhesion GRS will complement the associated GRC by providing graduate students and post-docs with a unique forum to present new data and exchange cutting edge ideas. Career mentorship activities will offer additional opportunities for professional development. The 2019 meeting will focus on translating fundamental understanding of surface chemistry, cell and biological adhesion, surface roughness, friction, and adhesion mechanics, to address novel applications. These include, but are not limited to, therapeutics, biomedical adhesives, haptics, and additive manufacturing. The aim of this meeting is to leverage the interdisciplinary nature of adhesion and interface science to promote discussion and encourage collaboration between early career researchers from diverse backgrounds.
