The Gordon Research Seminar on RNA Editing is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. The focus of this meeting is the biology of RNA and DNA editing and modification with a keynote talk from Dr. Eric Phizicky (University of Rochester Medical Center). The GRS will have three sessions provisionally titled “Functions of Nucleic Acid Editing and Modification”, “Molecular Mechanism of Nucleic Acid Editing and Modification” and “Cutting-Edge Nucleic Acid Technologies”. There will be talks selected from abstracts and two poster sessions. Sessions will be chaired by selected students/postdocs. These sessions aim to connect fundamental mechanisms with the emerging therapeutic applications of the editing technologies. In addition, the GRS will conclude with a panel discussion titled “Diverse Career Pathways for PhDs” aimed at providing a platform for students and post-docs to discuss career development with professionals working in diverse careers.
