Abstract

The Gordon Research Seminar on Medicinal Chemistry is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. The focus of this meeting is the exploration of key strategies and tactics utilized in modern medicinal chemistry. Presenters will introduce fundamental concepts used to design and evaluate pharmacological, metabolic, and toxicological profiles of drug leads and candidates. New concepts and technologies will be presented that have been successfully utilized to accelerate industrial drug discovery projects. This seminar is organized in a workshop format, allowing for close interaction between practicing medicinal chemists and participating attendees. Case studies of drug discovery projects will highlight successful approaches taken to deliver clinical candidates.
