Abstract

The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) are proud to announce the 2nd Middle East Geoscience Student Conference which is scheduled to take place from 11-13 March 2019 in Muscat, Oman. Building on the last edition’s success, the three societies welcome back geoscience students to participate in this student programme. The conference will rotate within the region in odd years and be held alongside the GEO Conference and Exhibition during even years. Over the years, each society has consistently made considerable contributions to support students and their respective universities and as we continue with raising our levels of cooperation, a natural progression is to do the same for our many student chapters and provide them with a definitive regional student conference. The student conference will offer participants from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region a chance to compete in the EAGE Geo-Quiz and SEG Challenge Bowl. Participating students will also be able to advance their existing knowledge, discuss opportunities, expand their horizons and share their expertise with their peers from different universities and with industry and academia professionals.
