At the 2019 Gordon Research Seminar in Myogenesis, we will bring early career scientists in the field together to present and discuss their unpublished findings. The seminar, dedicated to young researchers, is a unique opportunity for PhD students and postdocs to discuss novel and provocative ideas in a friendly and open-minded environment. The program will focus on cutting edge technologies and ideas to challenge our current view of muscle development, homeostasis and disease. Scientific sessions will cover topics ranging from muscle regeneration over the muscle-s crosstalk with other tissues, muscle metabolism and stem cell maintenance to provide a glimpse of what will shape our field in the next years. The goal of these sessions is to educate, question old paradigms and share novel findings to ultimately foster discussion among all conference attendees. Platform presentations, selected from submitted abstracts represents the core of the seminar, but (scientific) interactions will be further stimulated through poster sessions, a career development panel, informal afternoon gatherings and social events. With a venue located in the heart of Tuscany, Il Ciocco-s welcoming and relaxing environment will encourage the exchange of ideas and the development of new collaborations laying the groundwork to build the myology community of tomorrow.
