Abstract

Harmonic analysis and operator theory are two modern and active domains of research in mathematics whose roots are firmly imbedded in classical theories. More recently, both fields have seen rapid growth by expanding into wider areas both in the abstract (quantum groups, operator spaces and algebras) and applied (time-frequency analysis, wavelets, systems theory) directions, and interconnections between them have developed. This workshop aims to bring together leading international specialists in the two fields with established and young mathematicians, and explore common problems and techniques of current interest.
