Abstract

The Mazurian Lakes Conference has a long history dating back to 1968. Traditionally, the programme have emphasised the links and strong overlaps of interest between nuclear physics and other fields of physics, like astrophysics, atomic physics, particle physics, physics of many body systems etc. Another tradition is to maintain a proper balance between the scientific programme and social interactions. The social activities which may be considered as hallmarks of the Mazurian meetings include a chamber music evening concert in the local church and sailing crowned with the regatta. The Proceedings of the Conference are published as a special issue of the EPS recognised journal Acta Physica Polonica B.
