Abstract

During the 13th International Catalysis Congress (ICC) held in Paris in 2004, 15 representative scientists from Asia-Pacific countries and regions completely agreed to found the Asian-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies (APACS), and signed on the revised Constitution of APACS. The Committee of APACS is eligible to (1) continuously promote science and technology progress in catalysis; (2) organize the Asia Pacific Congress on Catalysis (APCAT); (3) serve catalysis scientists in this region by promoting the academic exchange and collaboration; (4) provide liaison with foreign catalysis societies; (5) arrange meetings as the necessity, (6) invite more catalysis societies in Asia-Pacific countries and regions to join the APACS. The congress has been organized consecutively every 3 years by the Asia-Pacific Association of Catalysis Societies (APACS) since 1997. The state-of-the-art and recent trend in different catalysis research areas will be covered through Plenary, Keynote Lectures, Invited Talks, Oral and Poster Presentations with over 800 expected participants from more than 30 countries.
