The Call for Papers for the 2020 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC has been posted! If you’ve been considering submitting a proposal, now is the time. The AIA accepts proposals for individual papers, colloquia, posters and workshops on a wide range of topics, including recent fieldwork, ancient art and architecture, cultural heritage issues and digital humanities. Don’t forget that we have an open session specifically for undergraduates to present their work; and a lightning session, an informal venue for scholars to give 5-minute presentations on their work in progress, so that they can begin to receive feedback on their ideas. Since we hold our meetings jointly with the Society for Classical Studies (SCS), we particularly want to encourage those who are interested in proposing joint AIA-SCS sessions on topics that might be of interest to members of both organizations. All proposals are blind vetted by the Program for the Annual Meeting Committee (PAMC), so what matters is not your name or your status but the quality of your research and your ability to express your ideas clearly and coherently.
