The 50th edition of the ISMD conference series, bringing together physicists from across particle, nuclear, and astro-physics for talks and discussions on all aspects and consequences of the strong nuclear force and complex final states. ISMD is a "crossroads conference" between several different fields, with all talks in plenary session to encourage interaction. A poster session with rapid-fire "flash talks" and prizes provides an additional venue for research presentation. ; This edition of the meeting is to be held in the historic Atholl Palace Hotel in Scotland-s highlands, a short train ride from Edinburgh and Glasgow, just before the world-famous Edinburgh international festivals.
