Abstract

The school aims to provide young scientists from different countries with courses on various aspects of plasma physics, fusion energy, plasma experiments and technology, as well as plasma diagnostics. Special emphasis is laid on magnetical confinement concepts like tokamaks and stellarators but inertial confinement research as well as plasma focus studies and plasma thrusters are also presented and discussed. The Kudowa Summer School is primarily intended for PhD students, for undergraduate students but experienced scientists who, coming from other disciplines are also welcome to participate. The school will provide an overview of the various fusion and plasma aspects, participants will have an opportunity to learn more about scientific progress on main fusion devices, meet and discuss these issues with the famous scientists.
