Abstract

The 2020 GRC meeting will bring together a diverse group of scientists united in their interest in the role of tetrapyrroles (hemes, B12, bilins, chlorophyll, and related cofactors) in biology. The meeting started over 50 years ago and continues to attract both junior and senior scientists in the field. Each session in the meeting will bring together international researchers with different technical expertise, yet their studies focused on a variety of tetrapyrrole topics. Speakers will present new and unpublished research on topics related to the newest ideas in tetrapyrrole biology for a range of multi- and uni-cellular organisms. In addition to invited speakers, additional speakers including junior researchers will be identified for short talks. The meeting will provide multiple opportunities for established and emerging scientists to interact and exchange ideas in order to build new and unique collaborations. These interactions will occur during the poster session, meet the expert lunches, Power Hour discussion, session discussion periods and social gatherings. We expect the 2020 meeting to highlight new and emerging areas in the role of tetrapyrroles in biology and provide a platform for new collaborations and partnerships.
