Abstract

The International Conference of Welding, Joining and Additive Manufacturing is organized by AEAI the Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Technological Sciences in Israel. The conference is a gathering of researchers and engineers from Israel and around the world, representing Academy and Industry. Those bring the various points of view and are interested in engineering challenges, technological innovations and developments in this evolving field. The Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Technological Sciences in Israel together with The Israeli National Welding Committee (The Israeli section of AWS) is holding its five year annually International conference on 2020. This time the conference will be held on 27-29 of January 2020 in Tel Aviv and it will include one day of lectures and meetings (January 28) and one day of hands on seminars and professional tour in ISRAEL (January 29). We are honored to invite you to participate in this important conference and we will be great full if you could bring it to the attention of all concerned people in your organization. Welding in Israel is still an essential part of everyday life and the use of welding in today’s technology is extensive. A few important applications of welding are for transportation (bus frames and brackets, railway components), bridges, buildings, pressure vessels and tanks, storage tanks, gas pipelines, trucks and trailers, machine tool frames, cutting tools and dies, earth moving equipment and cranes etc. Israel is noted mostly as being a high-tech start-up nation. However even the most sophisticated silicon chip plant cannot operate without water and air conditioning piping, cannot be built without welding steel beams and girders. Recently found natural gas deposits in the Mediterranean Sea cannot be developed without highly skilled welders to connect the pipes and accessories. The Merkava tank and Iron Dome also depends on skilled welders connecting the various life-saving components. Educating and job placement of skilled welders becomes critical as there is an imperative need for the manufacturers to maximize profits without compromising on quality and by lowering manufacturing time and costs by introducing high productivity welding processes, cost effective designs and reliable quality control methods.
