Abstract

The primary goal of this conference is to develop a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which evolution proceeds via alterations at the cellular level and the pathways by which cellular changes themselves evolve. The central assumption: Every aspect of evolution is governed by both the population-genetic environment (which defines the forces of mutation, recombination, and random genetic drift) and the cellular environment (which defines the physical resources and biophysical limitations relevant to evolutionary modification).
