Abstract

On behalf of the Programme and Organising committees of PCCr3 to inform you that we have taken the difficult decision to postpone this conference. There are ongoing concerns around the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and COVID-19 disease, resulting in travel restrictions being put in place in many countries including Kenya. We are currently planning to move the conference forward one year, to 17-22 January 2022, but recognise that this date may need to change as the course of COVID-19 becomes clearer. PCCr3 is the third in an exciting series of meetings on crystallography organised in Africa under the auspices of the steering committee of the African Crystallographic Association, with the support of the International Union of Crystallography and the European Crystallographic Association. The theme of PCCr3 is Harnessing Crystallography for Africa’s Research and Technology Transformation. We believe that the postponement is necessary, to allow us to hold a stimulating scientific meeting, with due concern for the health and wellbeing of delegates. We hope that you will be available to speak at the PCCr3 in its new calendar position, but we understand that you may not be able to confirm that at this stage. We will write again as soon as we have a confirmed date, with other details.
