Abstract

The ESSIC has been founded in 2004 and since then, promoted and developed the knowledge of the Interstitial Cystitis among the  few European experts and European scientific societies. During the years the Society did a great and successful  job, even though at the beginning with some difficulty, on the changing of the nomenclature;  as well as creating a linking with other scientific organizations outside Europe (US, Asia), including the organization of some joint meetings. Nowadays some international Organizations (AUA, ICI, EAU) proposed some Guidelines for Bladder Pain Syndrome/Interstitial Cystitis (BPS/IC) to the scientific international community, without giving specific details. Until now the ESSIC focused mainly on BPS/IC assessment. This Annual Meeting represents a pivotal  meeting for our Society trying to delineate a global proposal for guidelines as a manual approach. The idea is to organize some lectures focused on the "hot topic" and then a final draft with the algorithms of the single arguments in the near future.
