Abstract

Our Annual Meeting begins every year with the Educational Day, followed by the opening ceremony, which will be held at the congress centre. We want the scientific programme to reflect wide-ranging aspects of key areas of our specialist field, and focal points will include the rapidly developing fields of the treatment of intracranial aneurysms and subarachnoid haemorrhage, and the latest concepts and developments in neuro-oncology. We will also analyse the increasing number of ageing patients in neurosurgery, focusing particularly on the area of spinal surgery. Modern neurosurgery is no longer possible without multimodal perioperative imaging and comprehensive intraoperative neurophysiology, so these topics will represent another focus for our Annual Meeting, along with the continuously developing, interdisciplinary treatment of intracranial meningiomas and the associated challenges and limitations, as well as new therapeutic approaches.
