Abstract

This course reviews the hematological system and provides an overview on the spectrum of hematologic cancers.  The expert teaching team, comprising currently practising physicians, guides course attendees through the pathophysiology of hematological malignancies such as leukemias, lymphomas and myeloma.  Common treatments and management of these malignancies are discussed as well as the challenges these treatments present to patients. The issues and complications of bone marrow and stem cell transplant are reviewed too.  Case studies and open discussion form an integral part of the program.
