Abstract

IAOS is an association founded in 1985. It is an international non-governmental organization (NGO), which was created and developed as a specialized section of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). Its objectives are to promote the understanding and advancement of official statistics and to foster the development of effective and efficient official statistical services on a global basis. Since 1988, 14 IAOS conferences have been held biennially in different parts of the world like Vietnam, Ukraine, Chile, Canada and many more. The main theme of the IAOS 2016 conference The Spirit of Official Statistics: Partnership and Continuous Innovation will consist of four main sections (Strengthening the value of official statistics in the rapidly expanding information society, Partnerships in action for results, Rising to challenges ingenuity Fundamental principles in practice) as well as other sub themes.
