A diverse range of structures and properties across thousands of biomineralizing species and over 60 mineral systems unites researchers from disparate fields to a common theme. In pursuit of multidisciplinary collaboration, this meeting will explore the frontiers of biomineralization research. Organized, presented, and discussed by emerging scientists, topics to be addressed include: in vivo, in vitro, and in silico mineralization processes, regulatory mechanisms, structure, biomechanics, and bio-inspired technologies for the study and control of biomineralization in natural, pathological and synthetic conditions.
