Abstract

Recent research into colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals has yielded important advances in understanding and applying this unique class of materials. Innovations in synthesis and advanced characterization are tackling long-standing challenges associated with complex surface chemistries, nanocrystal/molecule interactions, doping, and strain or heterostructure engineering, to name a few. Parallel advances in spectroscopy and application are forging new frontiers in energy, electronics, catalysis, sensing, and bio-technologies. This GRC brings together leading researchers from across the full spectrum of fundamental and applied nanocrystal science to discuss cutting-edge advances, grand challenges, and emerging opportunities in this rich research field, providing a forum for participants to discuss breaking developments, explore new cross-cutting research themes, and seed new collaborations. A limited number of talks will be selected from poster abstracts submitted by April 15, 2018.
