The Gordon Research Seminar on Intermediate Filaments is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. Our goals at this GRS are to provide an up-to-date overview of the latest research being done on the structure and function of all IF proteins with a special emphasis on the trajectory from basic scientific research to translational and clinical applications. We will provide an environment for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to present and discuss their research and to give them an opportunity to interact with their peers in an open and relaxed setting. We will address key questions about how to advance their careers and how to integrate their science in society, by organizing a specialized panel discussion.
