Abstract

The Gordon Research Seminar on Dendrites: Molecules, Structure and Function is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. The overarching goal of our GRS is to foster an atmosphere that advances knowledge of how dendrites operate at a fundamental level, which will hopefully enable the development of novel therapeutics to treat disease. Our program will focus on research that spans a variety of perspectives and technical approaches: from molecular and cellular signalling, development, integration, contribution to single cell computation and circuits, as well as disease. Attendees are expected to participate either by giving an oral presentation, leading a discussion, and/or presenting a poster. In addition, we are planning a Career Development panel to provide young investigators with a prospective “Hindsight 20/20” perspective on their developing careers. Come receive critical feedback on your work, gain privileged knowledge, broaden your international network, develop collaborations, make new friends, and have fun!
