Abstract

The conference is dedicated to the 100th birthday anniversary of an outstanding mathematician A.V. Pogorelov. He is famous for proving rigidity of general (non-smooth) closed convex surfaces in spaces of constant curvature and rigidity of regular surfaces in Riemannian spaces; for solutions of Weil-s, Minkowski-s, and Hilbert-s fourth problem. A.V. Pogorelov created a theory of elliptic Monge-Ampere equations and a non-linear theory of thin elastic shells.
