Abstract

The Gordon Research Seminar on Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes for Glycan Conversions is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. This year, we aim to showcase the latest insights into the molecular determinants governing the actions of unique CAZymes. This seminar will feature contributions on a range of topics including the enzymology and structure-function analysis of novel hydrolytic and oxidative CAZymes and their associated modules, the discovery and analysis of complex multi-protein systems responsible for glycan saccharification, and the discussion of emerging tools for the study and application of CAZymes and CBMs. Attendees will have the opportunity to share and discuss their current research and build informal networks with senior academic mentors in a relaxed setting prior to the associated GRC, where active participation will be encouraged.
