The Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Glycobiology is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting-edge ideas. The Glycobiology GRS is a small group setting that fosters open discussion of innovative glycobiology research through formal presentation and social interaction. The seminar will include 3 scientific sessions and two poster sessions. The seminar will highlight recent progress in understanding the functional role of glycans and glycoconjugates in a range of areas including (although not limited to): cell signalling, host-pathogen interactions, immune regulation, development, genetic disease, neurobiology and cancer. Emerging methodologies for glycan synthesis, structural glycan analysis and glycoinformatics will also be discussed. The seminar will conclude with a career panel session during which mentors at various stages of their careers will share experiences and answer questions from trainees focused on professional development and other topics.
