Abstract

The Gordon Research Seminar on Synthetic Biology is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas. This GRS will provide an opportunity for early career researchers to network with other scientists and to explore new state-of-the-art techniques, approaches, and applications. Synthetic biology is driving fundamental discoveries about the nature of life, the details of cellular function, and the vast orchestration of genetic systems. These insights are expanding new opportunities to address grand challenges affecting our planet and world health. Attendees will present posters and participate in sessions focusing on (1) foundational tools, approaches, and insights, (2) redesigned interactions, pathways, and organisms, and (3) applied outcomes spanning biomaterials, biohybrid devices, and beyond. A special collaborative session will focus on developing solutions for a sustainable world and provide the opportunity to interact with leaders in the field.
